I got Photoshop CS4 yesterday. It was working okay for the 10minutes i got to use it yesterday, but it's being odd today.

Here's a list of problems:

- When i try to open pictures, it suddenly shuts itself. No error, nothing. It just closes.

- If I'm working on something for a while, it suddenly shuts itself off, again, no error. This is the most annoying one of the lot.

-Some things don't work, like my 3D options, I always get an error when attempting to use them (It is a legitimate purchase, btw). The standard "PhotoshopCS4.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" Error.

-Sometimes it wont even open, or takes 10-15 minutes to open. And after that, I get the "encountered a problem" error..

I don't understand why this would be happening, it's incredibly annoying; especially when my computer meets the recommended requirements. I've tried installing it and uninstalling it.. didn't work. So what could be the problem?

I'm beginning to think it's my computer, I run on 32bit XP Media Edition. Thanks in advance for any help. :)

Hi Gurei,
My first thought would be to contact Adobe. I'm not sure how many members here have CS4. I'm on CS2.

My second thought would be to type in Google something about 'Photoshop CS4 problems' and see if there are any answers there.

I'm sure that anyone with CS4 will be along soon to try to help, but I wanted to answer so you would know that SOMEONE was aware of your problem.

My first guess is your graphic card drivers.
Uninstall your drivers and then install the newest revision from the manufacturer's website.

Don't forget to uninstall first, something is obviously not working and just installing a new version over another may leave some files untouched.
