Hi everyone!
I've been searching in vain over the internet for a simple guide for noobs to make rectangle with effect like on this site

or any other effect that i can use to make rectangles more appealing. (i'm trying to get a website with simple but stylish rectangle boxes)

I did this rather quickly, so I'm sure it could be refined. Using the rectangle tool I made a series of boxes and filled them with black. I cut out a section and defined it as a pattern. Then I filled a layer using a pattern overlay layer style, and adjusted the size as needed. Then added a black rectangle on the layer above it.

Ermm....... Copy/derive/alter. That's if you mean the stripes of bold colour.
