Hey there,
Thanks for reading. As with most people on this site, I'm semi-new to the Photoshop world. Currently, I'm using CS4.
I had a question that hopefully someone could help me out with?
Let's say I take a logo off of a site like MySpace.com. I open that image with Photoshop with the intentions of removing the white background from the image to make it transparent so I can paste the MySpace.com logo onto my other image that has a dark background. The current MySpace.com logo has a white background and light gray text. I use the magic background eraser tool and it removes the background just like I wanted. Now I copy and paste the MySpace.com logo into my other image with the dark background. It displays, but the edges of the modified logo are very pixelated and slimmer than before with the original image, and the insides of the letters are still white from the old white background.
Could anyone push me in the right direction with any tips or tricks with how I could accomplish this without the pixelation occurring? I've tried many things to fix this, and I finally lost it and went to PhotoshopForums. 
The reason I am doing this is because I'm trying to make my own mini-music site logos for my band. Bands on MySpace have these modified and perfect logos displayed in their own color all the time. In example:

Notice the modified logos for the different music sites.

That tool as well as some others have, a tolerance setting, you may need to lower it.
The lower the number, the less it will include, the higher the number means it will include more. |

Thanks for the reply, Hawkeye.
I actually did mess with the tolerance settings on it, as well as the magic wand.
Either way, the image still comes out pixelated onto the dark background no matter what the tolerance settings are.
Any other suggestions? :/ |

There are many methods, it all depends on the image as to what will work best. Perhaps you should post the logo. |
