Hi,
how do i reduce the opacity on parts of an im age, i have tried selecting part of the image with the marque tool and then reducing the opacity but it still reduces it for the full image.

try selecting the parts you want changing and then use the eraser on a low opacity to change the opacity of the bits you want.
im sure theres another way but i cant remember it right now. |

the problem im having is i have this picture and i want to put text on top of it, but when i try moving the text on top of it, it seems to go behind it.
so i thought of reducing the opacity on the side where the text is.
is there no 'move to front' option in photoshop? |

yes just simpley drag the text layer above the background layer
the highest layer in the layer window is the topmost layer and the bottom is the background layer |
