I'm having an issue where Photoshop CS3 won't allow me to open up Lighting Effects. I have tried on different layers with no success. Help would be much appreciated.

P.S. When I open up a new document is seems to work, but any reason why it won't allow me to do it w/ my current project?

CMYK or 16 bit.

You could copy your layer, open a separate document, paste into it. Then change it to 8 bit, do your lighting effects, change it back to 16 and copy it back.

Just cheating on one layer.
