lol ok here goes!
If you wish to produce a 20 x 10 image from the photograph then you need the right proportions to start with.
- Select the Rectangular Marquee Tool and change the 'style' option in the options bar to 'fixed ratio'.
- You're wanting to create a 20 x 10 image which has a ratio of 2:1, so enter 2:1 in the width and height boxes.
- Now drag with the Rectangular Marquee Tool over the image. Make sure you select what you want in your final image subject to the ratio.
- When you have decided on the selection area, go to Image -> Crop to crop the image to the specified 2:1 ratio.
- Now go to Image -> Image Size and make sure the 'Constrain Proportions' checkbox is ticked. This will ensure you're downsampled image with have the correct 20 x 10 ratio.
- Change the width and height to whatever you want it to be, and make sure bicubic is active at the bottom of the dialogue box.
- Try it with the 'resample image' checkbox active, and then when it's not. Chances are though, you'll need to have it on so you can make the image the exact size you require it to be.
- Press Ok when you're done and the image will be resampled/resized to the correct dimensions.
Hope this helps _________________ Matt
