A while back I read that Adobe has stopped developing flash for mobile devices, the author predicted that the next step will be Adobe halting development of flash on desktop and laptop computers which will spell the end of Flash. Which is why experimenting with HTML5 is on the rise.

Yesterday I read that Photoshop CS7 will be for touch devices only. AFAIK touch devices have less memory capacity and less processing power than desktops/laptops. This will mean that Photoshop CS7 will have to be a watered down version to work on tabs.I like the fact that they are trying to make PS more accessible to more people but for PS to be an industry leader it has to be able to do the "magic" that it does now. This magic requires a loot of oomph from the device running it.
In the past, whenever I saw a software advertising saying that this s/w can improve your photos or will allow you to manipulate them , I used to ignore the ad saying to myself that I use the industry leader, Photoshop, I really hope PS CS7 doesn't spoil that.

Why is Adobe butchering it's software?

I don't know where you get your technology news from, but I suspect you were reading this around the start of April!

Yeah that sucks if it's true but i have my reservations just like you Mike.
Flash doesn't really bother me because i never used it much and what can be done with Adobe Edge / Html5 is pretty nice and seems to be less resource/bandwidth hungry.

I'd like to think adobe knows its market fairly well and I hope would not do such a thing.

Found this image while looking for the touchscreen info rumors.

Strange? Auieos and thehermit have posted replies ( thank you) and I did not get email notifications.

Actually Auieos, I read this piece of news in a number of places, and no it wasn't an April fools prank. I hope the following webpages are still online:
http://www.digitalartsonline.co.uk/news/creative-software/photoshop-cs7-be-tablet-only-with-exclusive-screenshots/ and I also read this same fact of a cnet which I think is reasonable trustworthy.

10 thousand percent increase in resolution sounds ridiculous.

See through walls and behind objects is equally ridiculous because where will it get the data from?

Zoom so powerful that it can see a skin cell without a microscope.

Auieos I think you are right, there are a lot of myths floating around about the next release.

If you read the comments on the page you have flagged, you will find the answer yourself, it is/was an April fools day gag.

Ok thehermit, lesson learned: read the comments at the bottom. I used to read the news article itself and not bother with the comments thinking " the people who wrote the comments won't know more about the subject than the author"
