Hi there,
I'm newbie using photoshop and wanna do the effect that appears on Spartacus series' intro. I appreciate any tutorial or help please.

Welcome to the forum.
It's probably a combination of a few techniques, first of a stencil cut-out tutorial, there are more than one way to go about it, here's one to get you started. Then it looks mainly like a coloured background, it could just be a textured piece that has been manipulated further and then embellished with grunge textures on different blend modes.
If you don't like the over simple cut-out tutorial there are loads of others out there that may be more to taste.
