Hello to everyone,

I am new to photoshop and I don't know how to create this text in photoshop. My boss gave it to me, so I am very nervous. Can anyone please help me. The background should also be transparent.

Thank you very much!

Take the magic wand tool, make sure contiguous is not checked in the options bar. Click on a black area. It should select all the black letters, then hit ctrl+j to copy the selection to a new layer. Delete the original layer, then you'll have the letters on a transparent BG. Save it as a png to keep the transparency.

How I'd do the star and the 'R' in the logo:
Star:
- Draw it with the pentool or if I'm lucky a custom shape. Custom shape would be the easiest, if it's not in PS by default, you might want to browse some resource sites for it. When drawing it with the pen tool I'd set up a separate (square) document, put guides on 50% both vertical and horizontal, and draw some diagonal guides with the line tool. Then I'd draw one eighth of the star and copy paste transform till I have a full one.
- For the R I'd add a custom piece over the front, drawn with the pen tool, I might or might not convert the text to a shape - depending on the diagonal leg of the R in the original front (I don't like to rasterize the text and erase/mask in case I need to use the logo on a bigger project than it's original size).

I hope this is somewhat clear, as it isn't really easy to explain to someone quite new to Photoshop. If there's any part unclear, just let me know and I'll try to elaborate on that.

Use a custom shape of a triangle, copy it and invert it. Duplicate and rotate 180 degrees. Duplicate and transform to a smaller size and rotate 90 degree.
