|
|
I am totally confused and have tried everything. I have a folder of images that I want to optimize for the web but everytime I run the Save for Web action, the file sizes are still way too large compared to when I manually click the Save for Web button.
For example, for a particular photo, when I resize it to 800x1200 and click Save for Web medium quality, the file size is about 200K. However, when I automate the task, the file as is over 1MB
This is what I do and here is an example using CS5
Setup a new Action
Resize the photo to 800 x 1200 width
Click Save for the Web medium 30% quality
File > Automate > Create Droplet. I then drag the folder to the droplet and the action begins. I have also tried
When I run the action, for some reason, the files sizes are significantly larger than when I manually resize it one-by-one and click save for web.
I've also tried File > Automate > Batch and the file sizes still do not reduce.
Please help! |

Save for web doesn't play nice with actions.
Try image processor in the Photoshop menu File > Scripts
If that doesn't float your boat I'll give you a link to a 3rd party one. |

thank you! I think this is working so far. Can you also please give me the link to the 3rd party software you were referring to just in case?

i went into <C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Bridge CS5\Presets> and the only folders there are:
Batch Rename
Color Books
There is no folder called Scripts and it's not a hidden folder |

just wanted to tell you that the script you gave me is FANTASTIC! I have always had problems with the Save for Web action as it messes up colors of images and the file sizes mysteriously grow in size. This script is my savior! THANK YOU SO MUCH! |
