I created a file last week in PS, and the type tool was working perfectly. However, yesterday I created a new file, and when I click on the type tool, and then click on the screen (after creating a new layer), the type is microscopic and as soon as I type, this box appears that says "Rendering Type." In fact, every time I click on any tool, this box appears. I have been researching for over 24 hours to try to fix this, and I'm at the end of my rope. Just a note, when I open the file I created last week, and I click on the type tool, it works perfectly, but it won't work with this new file. I'm relatively new to using PS, so I'm 100% positive that it's operator error! So, please help this operator! :)

Try reverting back to default setting.

When you start Photoshop and it is loading up hold down ALT + CTRL + SHIFT at the same time. Should give you an option to reset to defaults.

Also which version of Photoshop are you using? And is you computer old?
