I am currently processing 80 images (rotating and resizing) using CS4. It’s been close to two hours and PS is only on image 52. At home I have PS CS3. I was able to process about 150 similarly sized files (same actions) in about 30-45 minutes.
Differences I noticed immediately between CS3 and CS4. CS4 is opening a tab for each image processed but not closing them when finished. It is also creating a copy of the original image, with no changes, in the destination folder. From what I could see, CS3 closed each image file as it finished processing it and only the processed files were placed in the destination folder.
Is there any way to speed up the process on CS4?
Thanks

Save the action that is efficient to a thumb drive and load it into the desired Photoshop version. From your description, the two actions you are using are not following identical steps. You can also screen capture the efficient action (expanded in the 'Actions' panel) and reprogram the deficient machine from the print. |
