hello and a happy new year,
just now i was thinking about placing a celtic pattern around an oval path to make it look like a frame.
actually i'm trying to put the pattern between the two path on the outside (view picture), but i have no idea how to do it so i thought about the pattern-along-path method and tried it.

so i created a new brush with the pattern i wanted to use, changed the parameters to what i thought was ok, created a work path and from the menu chose align along work path. this is what came out:

can someone please tell me why it is all so messed up? i changed the settings in all kinds of directions, but to no avail.
the at last i reset the settings again and started all over, but it seems i just can't get the design to move around the path properly.

here's the settings i chose and in the settings window it looks perfectly fine ... why not when i use it?:

maybe someone knows an alternative way of creating an oval frame with celtic knots??

thanx much in advance and have a wonderful day ...

p.s. i'm german, english is not my native language so please forgive any mistakes !
