For some reason, the last few days, when I open several photos in Photoshop .... they all open on top of each other - so only the last one is visible. I have to click on "Float all in windows" to be able to see them all. How do I get them to open already in separate windows (the way they always did until a few days ago) ????

Which version of Photoshop are you using?

You could try Window > Workspace > Reset, or pressing F to cycle through window modes.
