Hello. I am so stumped over this.
I am making some menu's in *.dds dxt3 using Ps7 and NvidiaDDS plugin.
Some of my pictures are changing pixels, blending or something with the other nearby pixels.
I am making black menu with white border. In the black menu is more art nearby the border. Once i save file. Then reopen or view in-game; i notice it has a few px missing from the border. It makes it look like crap.
I really need a solid 1px border in white, purple etc.

I been using PS7 for years with no issues. Is this a setting issue ?
Palette , blending or anti-aliasing ?
Perhaps i am using a wrong shade of a color ?
Why does it blend my pixels together after saving ?

Thanks, Sincerely. DevJB

Example below.
--
I want to make nice 1px lines like the center example of the below image.
The outside lines are what happens after saving.
Thanks for any help !

Note: I been awake for nearly a week, so i am probably being nub. ;)

How are you saving the images?

If your saving them as compressed file formats (jpg, gif) then all sorts of crazy things can happen.

Also if your changing the size of them then the pixels can bleed/blend together. If you resize make sure to us nearest neighbor to resample it.

Sounds like its happening when you save them if you can open them up straight afterwards and see a problem.

Upload one of the effected images if you can.
Funny enough the image you uploaded for your post has perfect edges.

Above is 2 images in one.
I opened the saved picture ( which is outside border) then i drew the center square thing fresh without saving. As so i took a screenshot and pasted into bitmap and saved as a png then uploaded here.

So the above pic has both examples in it. The way i paint it is in the center.
The saved image is what happens to outside edge.

I'm saving as *.dds file with nvidia dds plugin for PS7.

DXT3 is BC2 Explicit alpha
When i maintain a 2px black border on both edges of the 2px problematic border. It looks fine after saving. But when color is within the 2px of border, it bleeds.
I think this is normal with dds bc2 explicit because its something to do with the 4byte chunks thing? I don't know but i am used to it now, else i just delete the picture and design it a different way until it wont happen lol
I can't seem to find any info about this bleeding thing occurring with dxt3 or dxt5 dds's.

Your getting a bit above my pay grade with the specific plugins.

Quick search reveals Nvidia Texture Tools being recommended over the plugin you are using.
