Sir,

I have an image of 3216 * 2136 pixels (Jpg). I wish to reduce this to 705 * 260 pixels (Jpg) without compromising on the Image. When I do this using Image --> Image Size and give the values as 705(w) and 260 (H) of the photo and retaining Constrain Proportions and resampling. By doing this the photo or image does not fit the preset of 705*260 (for the web) and if Constrain proportions are removed then the shape of the image is lost. It seems as if the image is compressed.

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.

When resizing images, choose Image>Image Size and go from there.

I believe the problem you are having arises from the values that you are inputting. 3216 divided by 705 comes out at 4.5+ this will effect the quality of the final resize. You need to round the numbers off.

Why are you trying to get to the dimensions of 705x260? There is no current convention I know of that demands these dimensions. Is it really a necessity?

On a side note I'm thinking of changing Cheltenham to Mikesville to reflect my name in the same manner as you! Pretty sure the council will be cool with it.
