Hi guys
I'm fairly new at using Photoshop. I'm an artist, but so far I've been drawing. I recently bought Photoshop, mainly because i wanted to take part in the positive posters competition. The problem is, I'm not quite following their brief, which can be downloaded here, even though I'm sure it's pretty simple.
What I would like to know is, what the difference between the design and submission is, if you're following me? It's two different sizes, resolutions and colors. How can this be? What I wanted to do originally, was to scan my hand drawn picture, draw it up in Photoshop and submit it.
In other words: What size should the scan/project be, and what's the difference between this, and what I submit?
Hope you can help me out!
Thanks
They just want to make sure that if you win the competition your poster can be printed out to a large scale.
Long story short, an image on the average computer screen (72dpi) is a lot larger than the same image would appear printed on paper (300dpi)
What you need to do is create a poster according to the dimensions and specs of the 'design this' requirements.
After you have done your poster this size that's when you create a duplicate and shrink it down to the smaller 'submit this' requirements.
They don't want everyone who enters the competition to be sending in a big file (design this) when a smaller one (submit this) will do.
If you win, that's when you get to send them your big file.
