Recently, I was photographing a bridge where I wanted to capture entirely in focus, from the near side where I placed my camera, to the opposite end. I took multiple photos (10 or so), where I adjusted the focus manually just slightly. Now, I've decided to put them together, but is there a faster way to assemble them so that the in focus regions are kept to compile the entirely in focus shot? Why I didn't crank up the exposure and tighten the aperture escapes me now, but this is what I have to work with.
Also, I apologize if this is in the wrong location, I tried finding where I thought it would fit best. Please move if deemed necessary.

When following that tutorial (using CS6), it seems to mask out all but one layer. Maybe it's me, maybe it's CS6 vs. CS5 in that tut...

Photoshop may be having problems distinguishing it. If you want upload the shots online and i can have a look in CS5.

It worked for me. It still need mask tweaking with the selection that it chose.
All i can think of is that you didn't select all of the layers before you went to 'Edit > Auto Blend Layers'
You should give it another shot either way.
