Hi :)

I've succesfully adjusted the color of this scarf to Navy blue and Black using Hue and Saturation. But now I need the darker yellow, as shown in the picture, however I simply cannot get the color right. The closest I end up with is a greenish/olivey version.

What am I missing?

Your having problems because the shade of yellow is lighter than the red.

Try separating the yellow and red scarfs onto different canvases in Photoshop then on the red scarf using Edit > Adjustments > Match Color and selecting the yellow canvas from the Source dropdown box in Image Statistics.

Then use levels to bring up the brightness and hue/saturation to lower the saturation away from bright yellow.

I would tend to go over in to LAB space to make drastic colour changes.

This guy has a pretty good tutorial. All you need is apply the same principles.

Apologies,if I am coming over all knowing without showing any evidence, that's not meant to be the case :)

As always kudos to those that demonstrate to the puzzled!

Good tutorial there Mr Hermit. Thumb Up
Lab space is better for changing colour and its always good to learn how to do things the right/best way first time.
