Do you find the lighting filter useful? I mean why not just select the area you wanted to "light up" with the circular selection tool and increase brightens / contrast on that area?

I ask this because in CS5 the lighting filters were not included. Has Adobe phased these filters out due to lack of usefulness?

Do you mean lighting effects? They're still there under the filter/render menu.

Frank1263, thank you for the correction. So do you use these filters or find them useful at all?

I don't ever use them. As you have already touched on, you can add the same effects more accurately using other methods.

That being said someone must use them. :)

I sometimes use them to quickly make a gradient background like the one below.

With me, lighting effect is very useful. I always use it for the last step to make my photomanpulation more realistic. But after upgrade my CS5 to CS6, my computer is very slow when I use it. So sad!

xversion1, why update to CS6 if CS5 got your work done and worked on your PC? I'm personally not sure that CS6 is worth the upgrade what for Content-Aware Move, or the darker interface?

GPU Processing!

Although the point still stands. If you don't need to upgrade or can't afford to; don't. It's a vanity upgrade with fringe benefits, I believe the fringe benefits make it worthy (having said that I'm still on the demo, but I think I will make the transition) if not a little pricey upgrade.

Netaddict, CS6 give me a time-saving and greater 3D-work and video than CS5. With CS6 I can do some things of 3D max, Power director... or some 3D softerwares and Video Editors without installing them (save my hard disk memory). I think it's worth it.

thehetmit, do you have anyways to optimize GPU processing?

xversion1, yes youare right CS6 has all of these features but to make use of them you and I both need to upgrade our PCs. So many people are stuck on upgrades. People sometimes upgrade a PC to wor on the new version of Windows then they install exactly the same programs that they had on their old PC, on the new one?!
