Hi all,
I work for a screen print company, in the art department. I have been trying to find a feasible way to automate separations. Right now we have a full time employee that takes Ai files and separates them out in Psd files. It is very simple, for each ink color in the art there is a channel. For each channel a different screen will be printed on it. We use a list of hot-keys and actions to make this process faster. In the company we use about 50 different colors, so I guess what would be the best way to do this. I dont have any background in writing scripts. Any insight is helpful. |

A script would have to automate most of the method, hotkeys and actions you go through for a typical file. The difficulty of writing it would come down to how involved this process is.
I'm guessing since you already use actions you have explored combining them and using your own custom actions.
When it comes to scripts vs actions, scripts are a much more powerful/versatile way to automate tasks. |
