cs5, patch tool not working.

windows 7, home premium. the tool used to work great. now (even after resetting the tool) the result isn't like the area i sampled, just a very pale very fuzzy version of it. i am using, "source", and i can't figure it out.

hi,
i am not expert by far with the patch tool , and hopefully other guys more knowledeable thaqn me jumps in, anyway. I don't think it has to do with your setting but rather the limitations of the tool.

although the patch/healing tool is similar to the clone tool however there is blending that take place with the patch tool. and if the color is too different from the source/destination you can get some unsatisfactory results that your expereiencing..

now there tons of article on the patch tool and very few addresses limitation... you might be interested in this thread...

the bottom line- tool working right nothing wrong with it, just it has limiatations and you may need to use a different tool /technique to achieve the results you want..
