Is there a way to make a selection marquee of a size in metric dimensions like 200mm by 100 mm size. ? |

Edit-Preferences-Units & Rulers. Change the scale to mm in the dropdown box. |

well i did just that. changed everything to mm. but still there is no option for mm when i use the marquee tool

Choose fixed size from the style dropdown box, then enter the size you want and atype in the "mm" if it doesn't appear. Example: type in 10 mm for width 10 mm for height. |

wow !! thanks..!! and is it possible to make a box of thickness 2mm? i.e. a rectangle of 2mm lineweight? |

thanks, actually the corners get chamfered and not sharp what should i do? and how can i permanently set mm as units so i don't have to type "mm "everytime? |

There are various ways, this is one way:
Make your first rectangle and fill it with color. Reset the rectangle tool size to 4 mm smaller (2mm each side) in both width and height.
Make a new rectangle, and center it in the filled rectangle, hit delete. You should now have a 2mm line with square corners. |
