Hi Group, Major Nube here sorry,
I have 2 pics of my dog which i would like to make into 1 image, take to jessops and print them onto an 800mm x 600mm canvas.
I have managed to cut them off their backgrounds (sort of) using the photoshop cs3 help files and the magnetic select tool, but thats taken me 2 days and i need this for christmas, could anyone enlighten me a little please,
Thanks for any info.
Yours Paul G...

hi,
1. combining two pictures on one... a couple of ways... but this is simple
a. open new file and make sure it large enough.... remember your going to be printing poster size

b. then open one of the doge pitures
click the move tool
and click and drage the dog picture to the new file
this will put the dog picture on it own layer...
c. and repeat the process witht he 2nd dog picture...

now you have both picture in the same file where you can now move them around resize if needed and also put in a new background if required...

2. now as far as selecting .... there different ways todo that.... the magnetic lasso can do a fairly good job but not always.... you may want to try using the extractor tool ... it does a good especially if there some hair showing on the edges...

here some tutorials for extracting tool

there may ways to select and which one better depends on the image itself and if there good contrast on the edges...

I would post a low resolution sample of your project, if the above doesn't meet your needs. Welcome to the forum.
