I have a photograph of a mountain side. I made a selection of the mountain via the pen tool. I want to put some text in, but only have the part of the text that is not covered by the mountain visible. Is there any good way to do this? I know that I could make a selection of the path and delete the part of the text that is selected, but I want a better way to do it.

Thanks in advance!

Make a selection of your path.
Go to the top menus, Select > Inverse.
Then click the 'add layer mask' button down the bottom of the layers tab (on your text layer) and it will automatically create a mask of your selection.
