My adobe menu bars go invisible and wont work, Help please?

Ok, so the problem is that the menu bar on the top of the screen, you know where it says "file" "Edit" "Image" etc. will not work. When I click on "file" the window that opens basically becomes see through and I'm not able to click on anything like "save". My main concern is my Photoshop as I have work to do in it, but the same thing happens with my Adobe Audition, Reader, and basically every other Adobe program. Can someone please me fix this?

hi,
that a new one, haven't seen that issue before....

so i went searching... in fact i think i found a couple of sites where you ask the question there no replies....

the only thing found that come close to that is that it maybe a isssue withthe screen resolution and the graphic card but that a guess...

take a look at this pse thread....... i think the solution they address might work for you...

I haven't come across it before, but a search indicated it could be anything from pressing F8 and/or F9 to bring up the menu panels to some program like admuncher messing with Adobe apps in startup.

I presume you have tried resetting Photoshop preference file by trashing it?

Thanks for the help so far. I looked into what jerryb4417 said. Although I wasn't able to figure out how to fix my problem. I have posted the question there too. Hopefully they'll answer.

Things to try:

* What happens when you use keyboard shortcuts? Ctrl-S should let you save to the same file. Shift-Ctrl-S should let you do a Save As.

* Could there be an open window somewhere which is "hidden" but waiting for input? (Try ctrl-alt-del if you're on windows and check the task list).

* Can you provide a screenshot? (Use Print Screen then paste into Paint and save from there). I assume when you say "the windows that opens" you mean the drop down box.

Ok thanks guys. I fixed the problem. Apparently all I had to do was update the drives for my video card. Thanks again.

thank you for getting back to us with your fix... what graphic card was it?

I was starting to think maybe it had something to do with opengl if your card was capable....

The graphic card is GeForce 7300 LE that I had swapped from a 7600 GT. The operating system is Windows XP. The 7600 for some reason stoped working so for now Im using the 7300 but I had not updated its drivers.
The latest driver they have is Version: 280.26 and I got it here:
