Hi all, im after a little guidance here.

Im trying to create some text and I want the word 'Shez' to look as if it's written with strands of hair. I've scoured the web for tutorials but all I can find are brushes of oddly shaped locks of hair.

Can anyone assist with this? I'd be super grateful!

hi,
there a ton of different ways you can do something like that... but little info in your post about what stylee or technique kind of look.. something like you would really need to provide a example...

have you thought about using a font!!
here a hair font...
http://www.acidfonts.com/typeface/alpha_woman_hair.htm
there others on the net..
maybe somethng like this only this one has a face...

another possiblity... fill in side a text
do a text outline with a mask
then blank layer underneath that
and fill that layer with real hair or something you created...

or have the text outline in hair... something like this

hi,
mmm

have you thought about making a brush of that segment of hair that you like?

then you could fill in the outline of the letters....

making brushes not hard... at least the simple one i do lol...
here just one tutorial
http://www.cbtcafe.com/photoshop/custombrush2/custombrush.html

I was just wondering if using the displacment map technique would work...
if i get time i'll experiment with that..
