Welcome to the forum. Try, Select>Highlights. For the bottom one, go into channels, duplicate the blue channel and paint the white highlights black and use levels to produce a B&W image, selection done!

The png one seems to be transparent already?

It's really only a few clicks:

1) Double click on the background layer in the layers palette to make it a "normal" layer
[ It will come up with a box that says "New Layer". Just click OK. And if you can't see the layers palette tick it in the "Windows" menu at the top].

2) Select the magic wand tool (on the left hand side). Unclick the "Contiguous" box at the top (unless you want the inside of the letter "O" to stay white).

3) Click anywhere on the white background. You will see "marching ants".

4) Click DELETE and it's done.

When you've finished use "Save for Web" and save it as either a PNG or a GIF. You can't have a transparent jpg.

Thanks for trying to help, Mike and renata. :) But, as this is in the Freebie Market Place, future replies to this thread should focus on providing the finished work for reals (if anyone wants to do that). :) I appreciate it.

Thanks,

Patrick

Please accept my apologies. I use the 'posts since last visit' and genuinely didn't notice it was the freebies section. A png version is attached.

Not sure if original was transparent, but this version definitely is.
