I don't know if this is the right section but it seems to be the one that fits better to what I'm going to talk about

so I want to know how to do thiese effects. They're like this watercolor effect that they use on tshirt designs

heres some examples

I know one part of the process is to use watecolor and paint like a normal painting. My question is about transparency

How can you add the parts that you want to have less opacity? Like, if I want some parts to have less opacity so you can see the color of the fabric underneath it, which is essential for that watercolor effect, how would photoshop know it ?

hmm I dunno if this was confusing, but its hard to explain :S

There are a few ways to add transparency.

You can change a layers overall transparency.
You can have a layer mask.
You can change the transparency of individual brushes and tools.

For what you want to do, layer masking would be the most versatile.

+ Fill opacity, layer masks seems sensible though :)
