Can I take a photo and take it apart and make layers so I can use them on another photo or create some new photo. I want certain elements in the photo but not the whole thing. Could you explain briefly or point me to somewhere I can read about this??? Thanks. _________________ John T. |

Select an element, copy and paste (or ctrl+j). That will place the element on it's own layer. |

John, as Hawkeye stated you can select the elements of the photo you want and copy them to a new layer.
The hard part about this is selecting the part you want to keep. There are literally dozens of ways to make selections in Photoshop, and some of them are more suitable, in different situations, than others. For this reason its hard to tell someone how to edit a photo without seeing it. Do you have something I can help you with, or are you practicing? _________________ http://www.jmerrittphotorestoration.com/ |

Practicing. Ever since you did that logo for me I have gotten a bug to at least learn a few basic things. It seems if you know how to do layers you can just about do alot of basic things. I know there are so many other photo tricks. _________________ John T. |
