Hi All,
I am trying to achieve such effect in PS CS5, I am sure it is basic for most of you guys. I am having problems with embossing or wrapping text around an object and blending the same object as part of the background. Something like this:

Your help would be greatly appreciated.
cheers

Welcome to the forum aussie. Well, firstly it's an awesome compositing job someone has done there, it's really slickly done.
I believe the effect that you want is a displacement map, there are loads of tutorials out there, here's one displacement map here's another displacement map 2 and finally displacement map 3 _________________ If life serves you lemons, make lemonade! |

thanks for the reply. Correct me if I am wrong, but displacement is involving putting an image on top of another AFAIK.
I have an image i created with text and want to wrap part of that text around, rather over the person's body. I remember I had done something similar in the past be placing a clear bubble which magnified the text giving it a convex effect. Cannot find that tutorial anymore.
thanks in advance

Hi aussie, no disrespect, but it still sounds like you need a displacement map (no idea what AFAIK means I'm afraid).
In the dim, distant, pass; I remember the technique you relay, it's more of a selective magnification, rather than a displacement per se. My confusion comes in that the technique you illustrated is, I think displacement, the one you are trying to achieve is that selective magnification. I will do some legwork, as this is not really my bag.
