|
|
I've created a few images and put them on a web page but now I have to scroll to the right to be able to view the entire image on the site...
This is my problem: I want to use the Fiolex Girls font. Not everyone has it. The people that don't have the font do not see the pages correctly, everything is off. I just made it into an image using photoshop. It's worked but some people still have to scroll to the right to see the entire page and I'd prefer that it didn't do that!
If this makes any sense to anyone I'd really appreciate some help... This is my first time using photoshop and I'm super confused!!! Thx Everyone!!! |

Hi CutestCanuck,
Monitors work in pixels, so when you have the image open in Photoshop, go to Image > Image Size and whatever the pixel dimensions are, that's what you're working with. If you're monitor is 1024 x 768 pixels, and so is the image, it should fit perfectly. You can make changes to the size inside that dialogue box too.
One last thing, if you're referring to title text then converting to an image file is fine. If you're talking about a large block of text then that's not so good because google and other search engines will not be able to read the content and index it accordingly.
Hope that helps _________________ Matt

Thx for that Matt! It does help a little and I'm only turning a bit of it into images... The problem that I'm having is that it looks Great on my computer... it's other peoples computers that are having problems seeing it and I'm wondering how does a person size these images so that other people don't have to scroll to the right to see my webpage. Is there a standard size for web viewing? |

If it looks good on your screen but not on a friends then it's all down to screen resolution. If you're using a 1024x768 screen, and it looks perfect, anybody with a smaller screen will see it larger, and anyone with a bigger screen will see it smaller.
What is the size of the graphic you're working with? And what size screen do you have? There are circumstances where you can program a site to call a certain image depending on the screen size of the user, but that can be quite a complicated approach. Many times you'll have to built a site around the worse case scenario, so maybe a 1024x768 screen size, and then go from there.
