I'd like to know how I can turn a circle like this...

In to a 3D cylinder like this.

I don't want a wireframe, I don't want it shaded, I just want an outline. (Which I can adjust the width of.)

(I don't like creating the 3D cylinder and using a line-tool over it because there are no snap points. The circle ends up looking a little wiggly.)

Either I've overlooked an option, or Photoshop is missing a useful feature.

Anyway, thanks for looking.

I made it by setting my elliptical marquee to a fixed size, i used 500 x 200. I filled it with black and while the selection was still active I went to Select/Modify/Contract and set it to 10 pixels and pressed delete to eras middle of black fill.

Then on different layer, did rectangular marquee and set it's fixed size to 500 x 500. Filled with black and contracted selecting same as circle. Centered both, aligned so top fit on rectangle properly, selected middle of circle with magic wand, clicked rectangle layer and pressed delete.

duplicated circle layer, pressed shift and dragged down to bottom of rectangle so it looks right. merged layers. made 480 x 200 or so marquee selection and placed it over where the unwanted intersecting shapes were and deleted.

probably other easier ways of doing it, but it's late here and it works and u can do whatever resize u want

use any size on the shapes u want, just match the widths up
