I am currently trying to make a wall-paper type background with some Gaming icons along the top and bottom edges of the wallpaper, with a logo in the middle.
Each icon is on its own layer. And I was wondering if there is an easy way to evenly space out the icons along the edges without having to sit and count grid cells.
Can I somehow select several layers and manipulate their positions??
Any help will be appreciated  |

Ok ... I think I have found what I am looking for (Distribute Linked) ... but having some difficulty making it work.
I somehow managed to get my 5 icons at the top to space out evenly ... but for some reason I can't get the bottom 5 to do the same.
I have linked the 5 icons together. Then if I use Distribute Linked (left edges) then they are all moved together on the left, so only one is showing.
I was clicking around with the top ones between Align to Selection and Distribute Linked, and suddenly it worked ... but damn it if I can know why |

I think it was to unlink the two icons at the end, move each of them to the position I wanted them. Then link them with the 3 other icons, and select Layer - Distribute Linked - Horizontal centers.
That seems to distribute the remaining 3 icons evenly between the two end icons.
It ended up looking like this:  |
