Welcome to the forum, this has to be one of the most over-posted questions on the internet and perhaps why the response has been so luke warm over various forums that you have posted it on.

Various search terms that you will need, include: HDR, HDR compositing, Dodge and Burn, D&B and the perennial favourite "the Dave Hill look"
