I don't have the .psd file for the following picture.

However, I do have the .psd file for this one.

The second link was my attempt to replicate the top one, as you can see, I failed to do the blending options or effects used. I have no idea how to do it. I'm referring to the cloudy, smudge-looking effect, and how the text inverts from black to white as it transitions across.

That is what I'm trying to replicate specifically, the bg effect, how do I do it? Do I have to create a completely new layer for that or do I create it through the text-layer, the text color inversion is in the text-layer?

Create a layer between the Background (with all the words and letters behind the logo) and the Logo (GPA and EUROPEAN POOL ASSOCIATION), then fill it with #000000.

Make sure your foreground color is set to #ffffff and your background color is set to #000000. Then go to Filter > Renders > Clouds.

Last of all set your layer to Over or Soft Light (whichever satisfies you the most). Maybe Color/Linear Burn will work too, try those as well.

You should almost or kind of have the affect as the logo in the picture. One more thing you should probably do as well is creating another layer on top of the layer you have and making a Radial Gradient effect (set to Foreground to Transparent) to highlight the logo a little more.

So, Layer > New Layer > I don't change any of the default values in the pic, correct? Then, Layer > New Fill Layer ?

Sorry, I have no sense of where everything is because I'm fairly new, for example, when you say "then fill it with #000000", where do I do that? Under that layers' Layer Properties or its Blending Options? That's why I asked for a step by step...I mean literally, lol.

"Make sure your foreground color is set to #ffffff and your background color is set to #000000." - Where do I do this? I'm going off by what you're saying and looking for the actual word "foreground" so I can input what you told me. If it's worded differently on Photoshop, please tell me.

Yes I've tried looking for it. Do you have CS5 too? Sorry to be a pain, I really do appreciate your response, you have helped and I thank you.

edit: Question 1: I noticed when I put the clouding effect, it's a premade one, can I edit where I want those clouds to be? If so, where do I edit?

Question 2: Inside the "EPA" in the middle of the picture there is the cloud effect too, how to I create that in that text-layer? That requires yet another layer?

I have uploaded the .psd file here(The second link) if anyone is kind enough and willing to help or do it, and resend it. (I have paypal) I need a step by step tutorial, I have CS5.

Thank you for your time.

Also, please?

The layering is my problem, that and I don't have time so I'm going to restate what I quoted.
