Hello,

What I would like to accomplish is to put something inside glassed jars.

The jars are full glass and round, thick and with a short conic top.

How can I put someone inside the jar, behind the first glass area ( front ), so that the glass from the back is covered with the image?

Should I take an image with a white/green slide of paper inside to get the front, and another one to get the complete jar?
Should I place a white or green paper behind the jar to avoid unwanted reflection? What about the paper reflection?

I know this goes to photo making, but what is the best way to create / prepare the right image to work with it in Photoshop.

A good start is half done to do the manipulation in PS.

Thank you

Yeah white in jug on white background will work with proper lighting. You could paint the inside surface of the jug white to achieve a better fill.

Another way could be to take a picture of the jug and trace its shape, then make the faux one-sided glass jug inside of photoshop.

Let us know your results & here's a jug to ponder upon...

Thank you for your reply.

I have to try both, I see some pro and con's for one and the other.

Some more brain spins. Confused
What about
Filling the jar with a fluid like 90%water/10%milk, till just less half volume.
Close the top.
Laying down the Jar horizontal, on a glass plate with white paper behind.
Wait till fluid is settled, make the photo.

Or should I cut the jar in two half's?

Am afraid that the background still shines through.

I did found this http://www.pxleyes.com/tutorial/photoshop/1951/Create-a-Super-Realistic-Mango-Juice-Glass-from-Scratch.html

But couldn't find a sample what is closer to my needs. Any pointer available to share? I try to gather as much as info as possible.

Thanks again.

Hey i like the the milk idea, should be a lot simpler than white paint inside the jug and work exactly the same way. Just realized while looking at glass of milk, it hides the white reflection lines down the glass with in the white of the milk. Maybe some green coloured fluid would work better. :)

Cutting a jar in half could work too, i guess it will take some skill/knowledge to cut shaped glass.

And making the jug from scratch is a pain obviously, might be easier if you had glass filter (alien skin has one) to take care of some of the hard work.

The idea i suppose is to get a template which will be used over and over again for different items, so even if it is hard to achieve, at least it will only need to be done once.

Lastly you can always try and take a pic of the jug, nothing special done to it, and see how a masked image over the top of it turns out. The reflections on the front and back of the glass may not even matter, due to your masked image having little transparency anyway.

I did found a green fluid from fruit, Kiwi. And the problem was filling it, the parts didn't flow down. Stay sticky on all sides. Netxt step was to fill it horizontal with a closed top with a hole in it, but for now too many small parts of the kiwi did colors differently. Did filter it, did mixed with water.

Very difficult, the shape makes it difficult and the top is to thick. Besides, the side thickness shows really up, it changes completely from view ( before / after ).

That the idea, I have three bottle's standing up ( not in line ) and one tilt aside and falling down.

I will try. But the jars are not in line and reflects in each other glass, how can I handle that?

Thank you very much for your feedback.

I would only take a pic of one bottle and put the scene together inside photoshop.

See above.
