can someone help me with cutouts. I seen some cutouts that i want so i try copy and paste them to what i'm doing and they come out with a black background not cut out :S. I'm a newbie can someone help? |

use the pen tool, and then once you have the shape you want, right click > Make Selection. Or you could just use the selection tool if you want a square/rectangle shape.
Then in the menu bar go to Selection > Inverse, and hit the Delete Key.

sorry dnt know you mean i just got a cutut of someone but for some reason it has a black background i wanted it to automatically have no background can someone help? |

Welcome to the forums.
It really depends on the source image. You could try the above advice making sure you duplicated the layer so that you could save into a blank layer. Or...

Oh I see what you mean, the file you got is probably in GIF format. So when you edited the file its background went black right? Or maybe your using some other file format? Well in this case you'll need to use the pen tool, like I said do, and then saving it as a PNG file format. This way you want have anything on the background and it'll be transparent like you want.
Alternatively though, when you open the file and its background is already transparent, you should try saving it as a PNG file to get the transparent background. See if there's no background then.
