Still trying to get help on this one:
Hi. I have a photographic image of one of my paintings which I wish to scan and print. [I no longer have the original]. However the print bears lettering that I incorporated for promotional purposes. This lettering is over the background which is leafy. I wish to 'clone' in the background. Is this a job for the clone tool?

Depending upon your version of Photoshop you could go one of a few ways. Cloning would certainly be up there among the solutions along with Possibly Content Aware Fill. Healing or Patching would probably be a little smudgy.

This is with cloning and is probably the most expedient way of doing it, although content aware fill could be refined with cloning.
