I'm a complete photoshop noob, teaching myself with online tutorials. I'm trying to use the burn tool and it is simply not working.
What I did first was make a new layer.
Then I selected the burn tool.
Tried messing with all of the settings on the top option bar.
Tried messing with settings on the layer.
Nothing. Nothing happens at all when I click on the picture with the tool.
Help please?  |

Welcome to the forums jfagan89, from what you have posted it looks like you are going wrong near the start of your process. When you add a new layer it is blank, there are no pixels to 'burn', try duplicating the layer that you want to apply the burn to (it must have pixels on it).
Hope that sorts it.
