Hi all,
This is the first time I participate in this forum, I hope you accept me as a friend again
I am not a professional in photoshop, but I'm trying to created my own avatar image so put them in all the forums, this is my attempt:
You see in image attached, I try to mix the word "Egypt" with the green background behind it, but I don't know how to combine the word with the background to appear as engraved in the green background |

Try using a bevel and emboss layer style on the type layer.
Welcome to the forum...You are from Egypt, what part? I've visited there several times and would love to return. Wonderful country and wonderful friendly people. |

First of all, thank you 'hawkeye' for your kind words and welcome in Egypt at any time, by the way, the place of my stay in Cairo
Very impressive, the method you used in the emboss of the text, but this method will produce a result is not realistic, is exactly what I wanted to make the word Egypt as if it cracks in the back wall so that the word of Egypt, is an extension of the crack indicated by the arrow Red, look my new attached image..here is PSD file, I'm using photoshop cs me

It's hard to see at that size. You might want to try different layer blending modes with the bevel/emboss layer style. I used overlay on this one.
You can also change the gloss contours in that layer style. Double click any one of them and you can create your own by dragging and adding points (like in curves).
Cairo is fantastic, a blend of old, new and ancient. My last two visits I stayed in the Zamalek area, very close to 26 July Street at the Cairo Marriott. |
