Thank you Speakers and k21pilot. I appreciate you taking the time to post those.
Speakers - Unfortunately, I think you're last one was closer, though as I mentioned, not quite in the area I was looking for.
I would say that I am not a fan of the logo in general, the fonts, the lines to the both sides, etc. One general piece of feedback I can offer is I don't want the logo to be associated with a gender. Both men and women, of any race, will be a part of the collective. So, having a man, colored white, in the logo, probably wouldn't work.
k21pilot - I see what you were going for and I can appreciate it. Unfortunately, I don't think it will work for this project.
The font is cool, but I don't think it's clean enough. Placing it over the globe makes it harder to read, as well.
Sorry that I'm not really liking any of the work posted. But, please feel free to post at your leisure here, if you'd like, and I'll be glad to continue to view, consider and offer feedback, as appropriate.
The logos I posted as inspiration are the sort of clean, polished logo I am after. But, the elements of them shouldn't be misappropriated so as to be copied (not that anyone here has done that), just strictly the style of them used for inspiration, if that makes sense.

Thanks k21pilot. I appreciate it.
When I said the font wasn't clean enough in my last post, I meant the font itself as much as what it was placed on. Sorry for the confusion.
Unfortunately, I don't think that this styling will work, sorry. The bevel, gradient, etc. Just not in line with my personal tastes, saying nothing of the work itself. I appreciate you putting them together, though.

I include a rough preliminary for an idea I had. It's a cockerel with a megaphone inside a stylised speech bubble, around the speech bubble the logotype (circular). The colours and style can always be changed. Duotoned/desaturated etc...
Thought I would post it up here though so you can dismiss it early
Are you going for serious? and a few examples of typography you like wouldn't hurt

Thanks Auieos. I appreciate you putting this together.
I'm not really a fan of the composition. The lectern is an interesting idea, but I'm not sure it translates for a lot of people who might be looking for a speaker. For example, I've yet to speak at a lectern like this. I have spoken at venues that had them, though.
