|
|
i've been using vector masks when editing photographs. for example, i'll have a base image and i'll paste in another image to a second layer. i then create a vector mask for the second layer so i can blend the two together using the paint brush tool. recently i've been having a lot of trouble where the image that the vector mask is getting applied to gets locked and i can't paint on the vector layer itself. does anyone know what causes this?
for example, when it is working as expected, if i click the image icon in layer two a border appears around the image icon. if i then click the vector mask icon the border moves from the image icon to the vector mask icon. however, when the problem occurs, i can't get the border to move from the image icon.
thanks,

I think you should be using a regular mask. A vector mask is edited with the pen tools, not the paint brush. |

that's embarrassing. i guess i was originally using a layer mask and at some point missed the menu option for layer mask and started using vector mask. thanks! |
