Multiply blend mode changes image to black please help

Posted: Mon Mar 15, 2010 4:46 am Post subject: Multiply blend mode changes image to black please help

when i change the bled mode of a new duplictae layer to multiply it turns black please help me. I'm using a transparent background and need to darken the image using multiply for a sillouhette im making but each time i copy the main picture(also has transparent back) it turns black Please help.
