This is kind of a shot in the dark but hopefully someone here can either help with a project I am working on or refer me to someone who they think can. I am getting married late this summer. My parents have been helping us a ton with the wedding and we would like to give them a great gift in return. What my fiancee and I had in mind was a story book that contained photos that go along with a story I have written that details how she and I came to meet and how she has become part of my family. Originally we wanted to make this a pop-up book as my father has a small collection of them but realized this was going to be too difficult and expensive. So we decided a simple story with some great photos. We'd like the photos to be edited or layed out in some sort of creative way that would make the book unique/special. I've talked to a few people but all they seem able to do is add filters to the photos which is a nice start, but not exactly what we are looking for. Ideally I'd like the photos edited and then some elements added to each of the photos that would make them fairytale like and tie them all together as part of the same story. The story is ten pages. Our budget for the whole project is what I consider very reasonable compared to the amount of work, but I'd rather talk about that directly with the interested parties. If this a project you or someone you know can tackle then I'd love to hear from you

Thanks

Its a great idea making a personal gift like that. I don't know your level of Photoshop or Illustrator or even if you have them, but the Japanese bookbinding could be achieved with a little patience.

I just thought the hand made approach might go down well.

5 years ago I was using 2.0 and thought I had it made. Now the level of difficulty has increased so that it is no longer a part time hobby. I gave up photo shop tinkering for now. SOme day I'll be retired.

Cheers

I design books for all occasions. Baby's first year, weddings, 13th birthday party, dogs, whatever. I use Blurb.com. The books are very affordable. Although you can use their software to layout, I do everything custom in Photoshop and then upload full page layouts. I charge a design fee that depends on the book's length you purchase the books at the cost on the website. So, if you don't want to design it yourself, hire me and I'll do it for ya'.

I've been using Photoshop for about 15 years now, so I definitely don't rely on filters.
