You could start selecting the part of the sticks that you want to be behind the color, then right click on the selection and select "cut to new layer" and then change the transparency of that new layer to a percentage that looks realistic. I am assuming that the color is somewhat transparent, if not, just cut the part of the sticks off that you should not be able to see. It also might help if you could upload the psd files with layers as I can not try anything with this flattened image.

Thank you for your advice. I would give you the PSD file but this poster is for a compitition and I cannot have a team project. This is what I did to fix it. I used Vanishing points for the drums sticks then I put a shadow under them on the glass. Lastly as you said make the end of the drum stick transparent. I personally think it's better, but I really don't know if it is looking like it come from the colored part in the center and through the glass. Please tell me how it looks to you?

Umm. That "drumstick" on the bottom?

Nevermind.

What combiBob is trying to say in a more delicate way is that your distortion of them has made them resemble penises (to some, at least). :) You may want to adjust your picture in order to avoid that.

Thanks,

Patrick

The shadow at the top of both drum sticks looks wrong aswell and needs to go. I would also move the drum sticks into a more central position and put a drop shadow on the rainbow they are coming out of depending on which way the light source is falling.

I also think that the drum sticks should be more central but if they need to be there then here's my attempt...
