Hi Guys,
I just finished an image with tons of layers in it.
Some of the layers have blending mode effects on them (outer glow, texture overlays, etc).
When I flatten the image, these blending mode effects disappear.
I need to flatten the image so I can save it as a .jpeg file in order to print it.
I've tried the 'stamp visible' and lots of other approaches but nothing has worked so far.
Anyone know how to flatten it down so the image looks exactly as it did with the blending mode effects on it?
Any help would be great, thanks again |

To clarify, here's the specifics:
Layer 2 - blank layer filled entirely in white
15% opacity
Blending Options: bevel and emboss
Layer Mode: Vivid Light
Layer 1 - artwork scene (beach landscape)
100% opacity
Blending Options: none
Layer Mode: Normal
Basically, the top layer (layer 2) is being used as a texture overlay for the artwork to create a 'canvas' look. The bevel and emboss gives the grainy look to the artwork below because this layer is set to vivid light, so it shows through (similar to 'multiply').
Here's the problem:
When merging these two layers, the top layer (layer 2) is disappearing. It has something to do with 'vivid light' as the layer mode.
After a bit of research I've seen that this is a common issue.
Anyone have this problem? |

Ctrl+Shift+Alt+E should flatten your layers without affecting your adjustment layers from memory.
Another way (from distant memory) is to put a blank layer beneath your adjustment layer and turn off any other layer apart from the two you want to be merged and press Ctrl+E (from memory, mege down)or if that doesn't work Ctrl+Shift+E (gulp, I think, merge all down).

When you merge or flatten layers everything ends up in a single layer, a background layer. |

I figured out my problem with disappearing bevel. The size of my artwork was 24"x9" 300ppi. The bevel was only 1px thick. I adjusted it to about 25px, and when flattened, it looks normal. |
