How can you take an effect you might have made and apply it similarly to a gradient? Namely erasing? Say if I have two layers of two different pictures and I want the picture on top to be gradually transparent from the bottom to top. Now CS4 introduced the ability to have effects like saturation and exposure be graded but only when you are working in the camera raw format. Thats definitely useable for me but thats still not always ideal. To be able to have graded transparency would be the most useable. |

If I understand you correctly you want to fade part of one image into another? On the top layer create a layer mask and then use a rectangular black and white gradient and after you have clicked on the layer mask icon in the layer palette, drag the gradient out so the black is at the bottom (to make the underlying layer show through). |

Yes that was what I was looking for. Thank you, thank you. Apparently I need to work on getting alot more familiar with layer masks. |
