Hello: I am new to this forum and wonder if any of the professionals can give me a hand. I am attempting to creat a design for a clock dial. I have been able to get two layers with the proportioned circles and the thickness I want. I am wondering how can the numbered lines be inserted and be at the right position. I think it would be 6 degrees for each. Is there a way to snap them in place? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Paul _________________ Paul |

Try using the transform tool. You can set the rotation in degrees in the options bar. |

Paul,
This next bit will only work, if you have standard keyboard shortcuts set.
1. Draw a rectangle, towards the top of your clock face
2. Free Tranform tool (CTRL+T)
3. Hold down the ALT key and move the registration point of the rectrangle, to the centre of your clockface (holding SHIFT will constrain your movement of the registration point)
4. In the options bar, select the 'set rotation' box and stick in 6.0 degrees, press Tab, your rectangle should move 6 degrees clockwise.
5. Now, for the following processes to work, Undo the last move
6. Now, press CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+T. If this worked you should see an exact copy of your rectangle at 6 degrees from the centre of your clock face.
7. Continue pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+T until your have all the points on your clock face.
Hope this helps.

hawkeye & Rickie thanks for the reply. I have not set up any shortcuts yet. I just received the Dummy book . I am going to try to post a picture of what I have done so far. My file is way too large. Can't attach it. I'll keep you posted. It may take me a few days to get to it. Again thanks....Paul _________________ Paul |

No probs Paul.
I can't take full credit for that one. I needed to do a clockface ages ago and that was in a wonderful book called How to Cheat in Photoshop CS3. Shame they called it 'cheat' as it's not really that, it's just a very informative book with all the key 'how tos'.
