Hi guys,

I am trying to superimposed the red dot distribution pattern over the yellow dot distribution pattern for comparative purposes. Is it possible to get some % overlap values for the two patterns once the images have been superimposed? I plan to do some statistical analysis if I can get overlap % values.

If anyone can offer some assitance it will be much appreciated.

Yellow dots are the distribution of marine protected areas, and the red dots are the distribution of Acropora corals

You could stick both images on to separate layers inside Photoshop (red dot map on top of yellow dot map). And then change the opacity the top layer to 50% so the bottom layer shows through. However, your maps aren't of similar proportions, so it would be difficult to match them up.

Here, this is the best I could come up with, with the images supplied.

I had to remake and stretch the red dot map so that it overlayed the yellow dot map exactly.

I then removed any colour that wasn't red, leaving just the dots.

Hope it's what you had in mind.

Waves.
